Environmental Stewardship Program

Since 2015, Perrigo implemented the Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP). A core function of the ESP is to promote and drive environmental sustainability throughout Perrigo’s business globally through goal setting, projects and engagement. This starts with our operations and continues with our products and our supply chain.

Three Step Environmental Stewardship Strategy

Our Environmental Stewardship Program consists of a three-pronged strategy, aimed at advancing environmental sustainability on the areas we impact the most.

Efficient Operations

Using 2015 as a baseline, we’ve set goals to reduce our Greenhouse gas emissions, energy, water and waste by 15% by 2020.

Efficient Products

We’ve set goals to improve packaging recyclability and efficiency, improve recycle labeling, and offer sustainable options whenever regulations allow.

Responsible Supply Chain

From Certified Sustainable Palm Oil to Sustainable Forest Packaging, we maintain goals and requirements in key areas of our supply chain.

Global Climate Change and Warming

Acknowledging that carbon emissions and climate change continue to be one of human kind’s greatest concerns, reducing Perrigo’s greenhouse gas emissions is a key component of our environmental stewardship strategy. In the last 3 years, we have:

Reduced Greenhouse gas emissions by 13% within our own operations
Joined Project Gigaton and the CDP
Implemented numerous projects, from LED lighting to compressed air and energy audits
